Itinerary
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Entebbe or Kampala by your guide. After a briefing on the itinerary, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes approximately 6 to 7 hours, passing through lush Ugandan countryside, small towns, and the equator, where you can stop for photos and souvenir shopping.
Arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon and check in to your lodge. After lunch, you will head out for an evening game drive in the park’s northern sector, the Kasenyi Plains, which is renowned for its high concentration of Uganda kobs, lions, elephants, and buffaloes. The game drive offers a perfect introduction to Uganda’s wildlife as you explore the savannah and spot various animals in their natural habitat.
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi area, a prime location for wildlife sightings. This region is a favorite for lions and is also home to large herds of buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs. With your experienced guide, you’ll explore the park’s open plains and bushland while keeping an eye out for predators like hyenas and leopards.
Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before heading out for an exciting afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This 32-kilometer-long natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is famous for its dense population of hippos and crocodiles. During the 2-hour cruise, you will enjoy close-up views of these aquatic animals, along with elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes that gather along the shores to drink. The channel is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 600 bird species, including pelicans, cormorants, and African fish eagles.
After the boat cruise, enjoy a relaxing evening at your lodge, soaking in the beautiful sunset over the park.
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before embarking on a final game drive in the park. This morning's drive allows you to explore a different section of the park or return to the Kasenyi Plains to track any animals you may have missed on the previous days. Look out for tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, known for their unique behavior of lounging in the fig trees.
After the game drive, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop along the way. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your incredible 3-day safari.
