Embark on an unforgettable 10-day safari that combines the stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultures of Uganda and Rwanda. This carefully curated itinerary will take you through iconic national parks, breathtaking mountains, and vibrant local communities, culminating in extraordinary wildlife experiences like gorilla trekking and wildlife viewing.
Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide, who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to explore the beautiful Entebbe Botanical Gardens or relax at the shores of Lake Victoria.
After breakfast, begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s most famous wildlife reserves. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see the critically endangered white rhinos.
Upon arrival in Murchison Falls, you’ll check in to your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, take a game drive in the park, where you can spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and various antelope species. End your day with a spectacular view of the Murchison Falls, where the Nile River forces its way through a narrow gorge.
Today, enjoy an early morning game drive to catch sight of the park’s wildlife as they start their day. Keep an eye out for predators and large herds of buffaloes and elephants.
Afterward, return to your lodge for breakfast before embarking on a boat cruise along the Nile River. This relaxing trip takes you close to the base of the Murchison Falls and allows you to see hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species, including the iconic shoebill stork.
Return to your lodge for the evening and enjoy dinner while soaking in the stunning views of the Nile.
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and head towards Kibale National Park, renowned for its diverse primate population. The drive takes approximately 7 hours, with a scenic stop for lunch along the way.
Upon arrival in Kibale, check in to your lodge and spend the evening relaxing amidst the beautiful rainforest surroundings.
Today, experience an incredible chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale National Park, home to over 1,400 chimpanzees and numerous other primate species. After breakfast, you will join a guided trek through the forest to find these fascinating creatures.
Once located, you will spend an hour observing the chimps in their natural habitat, learning about their behavior and social structure. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you may choose to explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for its rich biodiversity and birdwatching opportunities.
After breakfast, you will depart Kibale and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. The drive takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the park's northern sector, the Kasenyi Plains, where you can spot Uganda kobs, lions, elephants, and more.
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring different habitats in search of wildlife. Return to your lodge for breakfast.
In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species while enjoying the stunning scenery along the shores.
Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, known for its population of mountain gorillas. The drive takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes.
Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. If time permits, you can visit a local community or engage in a cultural experience with the Batwa people.
Today is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure.
The trek can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have an hour to observe and take photographs as they interact and feed. This encounter is a truly magical experience that will leave you in awe.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. Enjoy the serene environment of Bwindi before your final evening in the park.
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin your journey to Kigali, Rwanda. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours, depending on the border crossing at Katuna or Cyanika.
Upon arrival in Kigali, you can take a city tour to visit key sites like the Genocide Memorial, local markets, and the vibrant arts scene, or you may head straight to the airport for your departure flight.
